We stand right now in the thick end of a wet winter and it's easy to forget when it started or when it will end. This has marked similarities to the performance trough where you no longer remember the gains and cannot see improvement you so rightly deserve in front of you.
It was a great summer and there were plenty of moments to get vicariously excited about. Not least Stu Littlefair's ascent of Rainshadow, his first 9a. Together with Ben Moon's re-affirmation of his hero credentials on the same route it was a fairy tale story. It's a simple story of trying really really hard and putting in the required amount of effort to gain the desired results. No tricks or giveaways, this is what make's it so inspiring.
"If Stu can do it, so can I!" (albeit at a number grade lower)
He's short too, and works full time, and it was probably all to do with the Foundry Wave.
